Scarlett's Office, Mount Weather

This room is one of the many warehouses of Mount Weather, and is meant to safely store the beautiful pieces of a culture long dead. Before the Event, Mount Weather has collected and preserved art so that, if catastrophe did occur, they would already have saved a number of priceless pieces from Earth's history. This room is quite large both in width, length, and height. There are rows after rows of shelves and storage drawers. Crates are stacked high and properly labeled to indicate what they contain.

Like most of Mount Weather, the air here is sterile — if not a touch stale. The lights are somewhat dim, but can be brightened with the control panel near the door. This room is also free of video surveilliance, but is part of the Security Team's patrol circuits.

51 Days After Landing

There are at least two of the Outsiders who have permission to come into the Art Storage and use Scarlett's supplies. It is in that area with an open door that Scarlett has for the last few years, giving out classes or allowed people to work on projects. Like a normal day music is playing in the area, a soft humming of sound that helps with the creative flow, or so she has told people over and over. Something new in her office is a display of the Mountain from 97 years ago after completion, there is a cut away as if this would be stored for display, of course things have been added but it's give a very good idea of what the mountain's insides look like.

Cole is one of those people. And since coming back from seeing how things have been unfolding, he mechanic has taken upon himself to get to know Scarlett, having spent the last couple of day hours with her, just generally getting to know her. Maybe make a new friend. Besides, she's the artsy sort, and he totally digs that, being the sort who sketches to heart's content. So this is where he's been today, hanging out with curator. Which that model is exactly what he's been trying to draw on his pad, going back to his old days making mechanical schematics and applying that type of drawing to the model he's looking at. Maybe to make a map that he can carry around with him.

But he had to head back to residences, if only to bring back Tink and Reno, who had been looking for another computer to look into. The message was relayed that they could use the one in art storage. So that's where he's taking them.

Reno was still hand in hand with Tink. The latest events seeming to have sapped his personality entirely, though right now? He seems to be making an effort. Having been told the good news by Cole there was a focused effort to try. Trying was good! He had a challenge set to him, and he was determined to do all he could. He held onto Tink's hand and was actually alert by the time they got to art storage. He didn't say anything out loud, but there was an earnest smile seeing the opportunity that greeted them in the art room. "Aww hey look, that is a find." The art? No. The small hints for access though? Oh yes.

Tink gets excited when Cole lets them know that there is a computer in the art storage. Originally she was worried she would have to use the library computer in plain view of security but this is a much better alternative for the tech. She follows Cole and Reno back to the art storage, there's a little bounce to her step that she's forced to contain so no one thinks anything is out of turn. Her hand gives Reno an excited squeeze once they get int the storage room.

Scarlett is in her workroom, the doors open as is normal, she is working on some smoothing edges of a carving she has done. While most would not notice when someone comes into the large area, something allows Scarlett to look up and brush some dust off her forehead and cheeks. She wipes at her hands as she moves to look out those arriving in storage. A tiny smile touches her lips and she nods to the group before slipping back into the creative space as they make there way in her direction.

Cameron was totally taking up the rear, and wandering in after the others. He looks tired again, some light bags under his eyes— apparently he's taken to not sleeping well again. Probably because he decided he no longer trusted the medicine he was proscribed as being… well, a good idea. So with a yawn, he steps in and looks around There's a little nod of his head for Scarlett, a small smile, then he looks to the others questioningly.

The office where Scarlett hangs out, and said workshop is where Cole has indeed been hanging out. Some of his stuff is there. Most importantly his sketchpad. "Hey, you still here?" he says, after the short walk, where he peeks inside the door. There's a shrug at Reno. "Hey, figure if it's a place out of the way and we don't have to dodge people in the library, might work out better. Can work your magic." Opening the door more fully, he let's everyone inside. "Hey Scar. Hope you don't mind the intrusion."

Scarlett glances up when Cole returns and gives him a little grin as she shakes her head, "No, of course not, come in and bring your friends.." She offers this as she stands from putting a few things back into there storage area, for those who have seen the workspace, a few statues are covered now and a few extra crates have been moved and covered. She is dressed in a sleeveless tunic that is covered by a soft gray smock as she glances over and sees Cameron come in as well and offers with a smile of greet before she moves towards Cole and then looks at the techs, a soft breath and she asks softly, "What do you need?" Hey, she found a map, so clearly she knows they are up to something.

Reno followed Cole into the room. He looked to his friends and, well, they were as nervous and anxious as he was. It was a weird comfort giving him a sense of equilibrium with the situation. He gave Tink's hand a squeeze before eyeballing the system and available resources. "Iiiiiii think so. This was definitely a better plan, guys. Good call." He looked around to see if he could spot Scarlett first and then checked for cameras watching the area. Paranoid Reno was being very very cautious. Spotting Scarlett his free fingers wiggle-waved. He let Tink explain this one.

There are no cameras in storage near the office.

"Scarlett…we need a map, a real map of this place in case…" Tink bites her bottom lip, "In case we have to try to get out quickly because they try to do to us what they're doing to the Trikru." She looks at Cameron and then tells him the other part of the plan, "And I want to try to get a message out…to the Ark…to Morgan." Yeah…she didn't tell Cameron this but now, before they do this, she wants him to know what she's up to, "If they're lying…about the Trikru, they could be lying about our people being out there. And Morgan would be looking."

Mention of Morgan has Cameron freezing, blinking at Tink and staring for a long moment. The look of pure hope shows up on his features, and he can't do anything but stand there and put his hands in his pockets. No, he can cross his arms over his chest. He feels so absolutely useless, but hopeful all the more. He does manage a quick, slow nod, "That… that would be a real good idea. If our people knew we were in here… because the Ark didn't crash… maybe we can have a …" But he has no idea what. He's tired.

Reno looked to Cameron and said with a conviction, "We meant it, Cam. We're gonna find Morgan. It's important to us too." Cameron was their friend, and as such, it seemed that his priorities factored into theirs after all. Reno stared at Cameron for a moment and gave him a supportive nod before getting down to fine details. "Scarlett, Do you know if your system will do that or are willing to let me borrow it? I will, of course, be happy to take full blame for anything that happens to it."

Scarlett glances over to Tink first and shakes her head gently, "That is the closest I could get, if you need something else it means going where I should not go. Which.." She takes a deep breath, "I'll do, but that will end any help I can offer if I'm caught.." she admits softly, her voice staying under the sound of the music as she then turns towards Reno, a tilt of her head comes before she glances towards the computer, "I doubt I can make a call? Since there is nothing out there to connect with, or wasn't.." She motions towards her computer, "I don't see what your doing, this is the normal time for me to be teaching.." She offers with a slow smile and turns her back to face Cameron and Cole maybe as the pair of techs do what they need. She then reaches over and touches Cameron's arm gently, "Breath, why don't you work on your painting? It block my desk after all.." She then glances towards Cole, not sure if he is going to be helping or if she should nudge him towards art as well.

Cameron offers a smile to Reno that's both hopeful and afraid, and he manages them both all at once. "Thank you." he says, and he means every syllable. To Scarlett he smiles and shakes his head, "I can't, not while they're doing something dangerous. I'm not any good at this part of things, but at least I can keep an eye on the door so that if anyone comes to check in on us, maybe I can warn them and they can hide before its too late." So, he scoots towards the door.

Tink tells her softly, "They've been blocking the Ark…if the Ark is still there then they're still doing it. I want to piggyback that signal to get a message to Morgan." She gives Cole and Reno a look, "Do you think that will work?" It means being oh so sneaky to get through the security protocols but they have to try to get a message, "And security will also have a map…it's going to be risky guys but I can't think of an easier way."

"Maybe? If they don't detect it, I don't see why not." Cole offers slightly, moving aside to where his sketchpad was laying. "I'll help where I can, but Reno is the man with the plan when it comes to computers. You may want him to program. And if it can sent down. But that's if we can even get a signal out from this station. It's possible we won't be able to."

Reno looked to Tink and offered as more options, "Well there were a couple radios in the tech tent we've been trying to use to reach the Ark. I can try to hit those frequencies in case someone from Tech is out there I mean… I'd still have my radio but that's me. Pretty sure Jumar would keep a hold of one. I mean even if we move those are things we take with us. And likely if they're still trying to contact Ark as we have been. I can scan for those if we can get a signal out." He had too many options and just invited himself into Scarlett's office chair and hrmmmed looking over the options already letting fingers hit keys.

And all this is going totally over Cameron's head, so he keeps an ear to the door and is watchful and listenful.

It appears that since the Delinquents' last incursion into the Mount Weather intranet, security has been upgraded. Reno is, of course, able to log into the computer with Scarlett's password, but when he tries to burrow deeper into the system, he is stymied.

Tink frowns as she watches Reno try to get into the system that they hacked before, "Crap…it looks like they updated their firewall." She runs her fingers through her hair, struggling to think of what to tell Reno. She looks to Cole to see if he has any ideas, "Guys…we're going to raise some flags if we keep going."

The typing gets faster and faster and louder and louder until…. little squares appear with little symbols on them and a line of text and a blinking cursor. Reno's eyes squint and he mutters something about 'Deep Blue is a binary bastard…' His jaw set and he looked to them with a most apologetic look. "We might have to use that of someone who should have access. We might have to break into Dr. K's iffice as it's more accessible than Dr. Montgomery's" He didn't like it but it was a suggestion.

"I can take a shot. But if I can't get through, all of us need to get lost." Cole remarks from his spot. "I and I mean all of us, including Scarlett. We all go somewhere else, somewhere that's not here. Cafeteria. Library, I don't really care. But if I can't get through, that's probably going to set off alarms, if it hasn't already." There's a look at Reno. "I'm tagging in, man. Let me have a crack at it."

Reno pushed away from the chair so Cole could tag in, literally and figuratively and hunched over the desk and was able to point out all the things he tried that failed which, hopefully would help Cole carve a detour around all of the exposed obstacles and changes. Tech team was a team for a reason.

Scarlett is not really any help in all this, but she did have a small idea once but nothing when Cole takes over, she then decides it is time to step away, so she squeezes's Cole's shoulder at this words and passes by Cameron, peeking into storage for a few moments.

It takes time, excruciating time in the faintly musty room (Scarlett stopped noticing the old-art smell years ago). But eventually, the second set of hands at the keyboard is enough to crack through the new firewall, opening access to some portion of the system. Now the question is, what does Cole want to do with that access, and did anyone notice the first intrusion?

Tink looks at Cole and tells him, "I'm going to buy you some time Cole." She gives a smile to the guys there and then exits out of the art storage room, making her way to the library so she can do some brute force hacking on her side to distract those that might be looking for the intrusion. She doesn't tell Reno or Cole exactly what she's up to but the little pixie is determined to buy Cole some time.

Reno was talking a different damn language all together. It was like being in their crappy tent huddled over Cole's laptop again, and for a moment the old rush and thrill of discovery and success carried the overtired and underslept tech into a state of forgotten optimism. "Cole, remember that frequency we left open on the receiver? If we can find sync up to the algorithm we kicked out for that we should be able to locate a receiver." Fingers were leaving his hand? He clamped at Tink's fingers before they left his and he gave her a look, and for a full second, his complete and undivided attention. They had their own language and that was it. He let her fingers slide from his turning his attention back to Project: Spirit of Radio.

"Uh…." Cole is hearing a bunch of different voices at once, holding his hands up after he's gotten access. "You guys just tell me what to do and I'll see if I can do it." There's a nod at Reno. "I remember it. I'll see if I can use it to send something out?"

Tink spends 1 luck points on Dodging the big guys chasing me. :P.

Between the Art Storage and the Library, a patrol of two Security detail personnel reach Tink at an intersection, one holding up a hand, "Excuse me, Miss Tink, I think it's time to return to quart…" but she's off and running. It takes the speaker a couple of seconds to start forward as well, hand on pistol and the other holding his vest in place, but the other security man is faster. Significantly faster. Tink gets a dozen steps, and then there's a hand about her arm, "Time to go back to quarters. Now." There's a reason the first man spoke first… the second's tone is much sharper, much less polite.

"Awww…come on, you have to be kidding me?" Tink gets in the guard's face, shouting at him, "I can't believe this. First you lock us on the fifth floor, now we can't even walk around with you pushing us back to the visitor's residences? This is ridiculous! I want to talk to someone in charge! You can't keep pushing us into smaller and smaller spaces! I mean…we're freaking human beings! It's not like there's been a containment breech! Where's the alarms! Where's the freaking alarms!" Yes, Tink allows herself to be herded back to the visitor's residences after being snagged by security but she protests, protests very loudly.

Reno had to trust the pixie. That said he was determined to make the most of the advantage and started to delve into finding some command line back seat coding. Reno was tired as hell, but that didn't stop him from being a gargoyle on the edge of the desk as Cole drive. Wow… really was like old times only the incentives were different. Eyes read faster than his mouth could keep up with and much pointing ensued.

Scarlett blinks once and sighs, "Whatever your doing, do it and get away from the damn thing, someone is here.." With that she slips out of the office and moves with gracefully steps, to the music, like normal, towards the entrance to Art Storage, clearly going to run into whoever is visiting.

<FS3> Reno rolls Stealth: Good Success. (1 6 6 8 5 8 1)

Get a message out, get a message out. Get a message down to the Ark, piggybacking on the Mountains single. Saying something like 'hey, we're alive in the Mountain. Whatever you guys are doing, please don't kill everyone'. Something like that. Something that would at least try to save the ones that aren't to blame for all the death that's gone on. He doesn't say anything about the doctors, leaders, or soldiers. Nah, they can all go. Everybody else though, he needs to save them. Especially with the number of people he killed at camp. There has be redemption at the end of the tunnel. So fingers type, doing what he can.

Searching through systems for a particular subsystem takes time as well, and effort, when every system is protected. Eventually, however, Cole is able to find and open the radio subsystem. Just in time for Scarlett to make her announcement and depart. But the sound of voices getting nearer the door, they have… a couple of seconds. Tops. Six or eight short words… what will they be?

Reno hissed to Cole, "Tell Morgan, Cameron's alive, dammit. We owe him that." At Scarlett's words he muttered, "bah- abort" He rolled off the desk and strolled over to Cameron's canvas blocking the view to teh office to admire the picture… and block more of the office.

Cameron's thinking about Morgan a lot right now, because they're talking about talking to Morgan, so, he's… not noticing things. But Scarlett warns him, she quickly moves over to stand by his pointing and make gestures like they're up to nothing awful. Gesture, gesture, gesture. "Its about the lighting…" he explains

Cole furiously thinks about the message he can send. Something short. Something they would get. Something they would get. So he talks into the microphone embedded on the computer monitor. "3 missing, presumed drained. Send help. Warning, children…" He has to save the people in this place worth saving. Not another massacre. Not more death. Soldiers and evil doctors. Leaders. They can go. The innocent, not again. Can't do that again. No more blood on his hands. He ents the button to execute the command to send the signal. Which seems to almost bring shades of the last time he hit a button that created some kind of huge change. "Done."

Reno had his pulse racing and watched Cameron. A hand slid to his shoulder giving it a squeeze. As much got out as they could. But hey, It still would carry the message that Cam was hanging in there. "I never understood light but in a matter of waves, but it's pretty cool how you're using the translucency and gloss in the paint to bounce the lightwave a few more times to increase vibrancy. Man, if only you were born sooner you could have given that Worhol guy some pointers." He waited for the people coming. Scarlet said they were coming. He wondered if Tink was okay, or if anything would be okay again. At the very least, the Ark knew… if anyone was listening. That was a BIG big if.

'Done,' and not a heartbeat later, a pair of Security personnel turn the corner into the office, Scarlett on their heels. One of them notes mildly, "I think it's time everyone got back to the visitor's quarters." The other, however, has his hand on the butt of his holstered pistol. The first glances over at Cameron's painting and offers a smile, "Nice use of light and colors."

That's a BIG if. That Cameron's Denial is not allowing him to think about. He's not gonna think about it at all. So he nods to Reno, "The key is mixing the pigments. I'm a finger-painter, which didn't get a lot of respect in the old world except for these few artists who were true masters and could do nearly photo-realistic painting with fingers. But getting my fingers into the paint, looking at it, feeling it… adjusting the paint mix to get just the right tone to consider light and shadow nearby,… individual leaves aren't painted but I want the impression of leaves.." Then he looks over at the guards, smiles and nods, "Oh, is it late? I'm sorry, Guardsman. Yeah it probably is time to get to sleep."

Shit. Cole blinks, having enough time to log off of what he was doing, then turning in his chair, about to say something positive when the Guards stroll in. He says nothing, then gets up when he's instructed to head back to their dorm. He grabs his sketchbook. "Gonna have to finish that sketch later, I guess." he observes, flipping through the pages casually. There may or may not be a couple porn-related sketches as he flips through. He's a teen, what do you expect? At least it's not anime girls and tentacles.

Reno looked up and arched an eyebrow, "Can we bring the painting with us at least? He's on a roll right now." Happy to go back to their room, but hey, let's keep the functional ruse functional… and maybe have something else to focus on instead of staring at the walls. And he wnted to see how the diversions went.

The two Security personnel in the hallway with Tink simply ignore the shouting, shepherding her back toward the Visitors' Quarters. The second one, the fast one, notes calmly, "There was a breech actually. You lot." The first one — after catching up — nudges him with an elbow and gives him the 'hush, you' look.

In Scarlett's office, the first Security man nods his head, "Yeah, better finish it up later." The second smiles brightly, perhaps a little too brightly, and adds in, "I'm sure Mister Scott can come back tomorrow and finish it, Mister Loden. Let's go on and make sure you make it back now."

Tink quiets down when the security guard tells Tink that there's been a breech. She huffs, "Well how was I suppose to know…there wasn't any alarms." And then lets them take her back to the visitor quarters all grumpy.

"Eden, you people need to stop calling me Mister Scott, I'm Cameron. Mister Scott is my dad." Cameron huffs, waves a paint stained hand— because there's not been a day its not been stained since he got down here, but still— and he heads to the door to go back to thee residences. "Cameron, guys. Cameron. Come on, Reno, Cole. Tink. Bye, Scarlett- thanks again for letting me use your workroom. I'll be in right away tomorrow to help with whatever you need."

"I was really hope to get some nude sketches in too." Cole sighs. And that is not a lie. Though wonder who he was talking about. Cam, it was totally Cam he was talking about. But he's shuffled along with the rest of them, heading on down to the residences along with everyone else.

Reno shrugged as indifferently as he was in the couple days. He stopped eating the scenery blocking the view to the office while just watching Cam paint… really. But he was agreeable. "Alright. A list of hours of operation would be nice so we know for when things are dryin." He started walking in no hurry to get back. He couldn't help it because he was tired of the antagonists. As offhandedly and helpfully as he could inform mentioned, "Also your zipper is down. So ya know." He waited for Cole to catch up and engaged back with, "So before we were interrupted, how are you getting the reflection like that?"

<FS3> Reno rolls Persuasion: Success. (8 5 6 3 6 3)

Yes, one of the guards — the first one — glances down, does a zipper check, and then frowns at Reno. Otherwise, the two just walk the visitors back to their quarters, although the first one does note, "I'll talk to Head of Security Wallace about that." The second one puts in, "Don't you mean President Wallace?" And the first, "Ah yes, I do."

And very quietly, "ziiiiiiiiip…" Zipper goes up.
